To be clear about what it is: the leather is genuine cowhide and the lizard pattern is embossed into it. It is not lizard skin and we're not going to let you think it is. The emboss is pressed into the hide rather than printed on the surface, so it doesn't rub away, and it hides day to day scuffing far better than a smooth finish does.
