This is the piece we are proudest of, and it is the reason we started making bags at all.

Orange pebble grain leather framing panels of black ostrich grain, with silver hardware, twin rolled top handles and a detachable shoulder strap. Nothing else in the range looks like it. The two leathers have to be cut and matched panel by panel, and the curved side seams take far longer to run than a straight one, which is most of why this bag takes the time it does.

Inside it opens into three compartments, each with its own zip, and the whole interior is lined in hot pink. That is a deliberate choice. Most bags in this country are lined in black, which turns finding your keys into a small ordeal. A bright lining means you can see what is in your bag.

About the ostrich grain: it is pressed into genuine cowhide, not ostrich skin, and we say so here the same way we say it on the lizard grain wallet. The pattern is embossed into the hide rather than printed onto the surface, so it does not wear away, and its raised texture is what makes the black panels catch the light the way they do.

Questions people ask

Is the black panel real ostrich?
No. Genuine cowhide with an ostrich grain embossed into it. Real ostrich would cost many times this.

How big is it?
We have not measured it for the listing yet. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will measure it while you wait.

Can it be carried on the shoulder?
Yes. The strap clips on and off at both ends and adjusts for length. Take it off and it is a top handle bag.

Three compartments, how are they divided?
Two main sections either side of a zipped centre compartment, so things stay apart rather than everything landing in one pile.

Will the orange fade?
Bright dyed leather softens slightly over years of sunlight. Keep it off a car parcel shelf in June and it will hold its colour.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Condition every few months with a neutral balm, and test it on the base first because balm can deepen a bright colour. Store it stuffed with paper so it holds its shape. Leather care page.
